How do I convert an enamel wash basin into a sink?

I'm not even sure if this is possible or not but, I was wondering if there was a way to convert an old enamel-coated metal wash basin (white with blue around the lip) into a bathroom sink? How would I drill the hole without wrecking the enamel and how should it be affixed to the vanity (I'll be using an antique wash stand)?

A hole saw "may" work, but there is always the chance that the enamel could chip. You would need to go very slowly when trying to drill the hole. I would also suggest using Plumbers putty to form a dam around the hole area and filling it with isopropyl alcohol to prevent heat build-up while drilling. Good luck.
