How can I tell if I need a power vent water heater? ...
Hey, guys. New here. ;-)
Our water heater is 13-14 years old and beginning to leak a little around the top. I was thinking of going with a tankless heater but they're so much more money and using very rough numbers I figured it would take 15 years to save enough to break even. But then I realized that I have a power vent heater. Can you tell if I actually need a power vent model? or is it optional. What are the criteria? Thanks!!! ![]() http://www.pretenseofknowledge.com/ http://twitter.com/speedmaster |

You don't "need" a power vented heater, but modifying the venting to accommodate metal might be a pain.
