how can I align my sink drain (<--help please)

Hi all -

I've just installed new bathroom sinks, but now the sink drain and p-trap won't align up. I've twisted and turned every pipe connection various depths and angles and just can't get anything to line up.

With everything straight; the new sink drain is about 1.5" left and 2" behind the p-trap.

The only solution I can think of is to cut about 2" off of the PVC drain pipe that is coming out of the wall to get the clearance I need. I'm not a real fan of this, as I like the 4" that the builder left coming out of the wall.

Thanks for any advice!

The extra long stub-out was left there for you to cut back as needed.
For sure, remove a few inches and rework the P trap to fit.

If you cut back the pipe sticking out of the wall, be sure to back your trap arm as well to avoid blocking part of the sanitary tee inside the wall
