I checked with a couple of local repair shops and they didn't have anything and the local Sears doesn't stock parts.

The way everything is getting so cheap, you can only afford the best these days.
The tank is a few years old and looks fairly good but it is a second hand tank as I bought the house about 2 years ago. I have no idea how old it is and really what condition it is in on the inside. The burner and what not didn't look to bad but its hard to say how bad off things are. I know cheap is cheap and you get what you pay for which is one of the reasons I was thinking about just getting a new one.

Who makes the sears Kenmore water heaters? They dont make anything themselves. I installed a Miser 6 in 2010, been good so far, but I would like to cross reference so I can find parts if needed.

I just googled who makes sears and AO Smith was returned, sounded pretty sure. AO Smith used to be one of the best you could buy. My dad had one for like 35 years. The one I bought was not cheap, like over 800. It was a power vented model. I have been told, and have read that the only difference in the warranties is the type of anode you get, not the tank, so I put bought a Mag anode to replace the aluminum one in about three years.

The only place I was able to find parts for the miser hwh was searspartsdirect.com, type in model number and it will list parts that are replaceable. They do not allow anyone to p/u at warehouse and they do not ship to your local sears store. They mail all parts directly to you, You pay for the shipping.

The bad side is the new hot water tanks are now explosion proof. That way you can clean your basement with gasoline and not blow your self up. I'm so glad congress has made this happen.....

Sarcastic
