Hot water pressure throughout the house is very low and was ok just yesterday

I have local city water and my hot and cold water pressure has always been good. As of this morning my hot water pressure comes on strong as usual then < 10 seconds on, pressure drops significantly. Pressure is constant but much less than normal. This is affecting all faucets in the house. Any suggestions?

you dont say if your cold water pressure is good? i would try to drain your hot water tank let it refill and see if that helps. is your tank very old? if so maybe there is rust or sediments in there that are creating and obstruction to your piping.

Cold water pressure is fine throughout the house. Hot water tank is probably 8-10 years old

Sounds like a defective heat trap valve where the ball is blocking either the cold water inlet or hot water outlet. See this link for info on heat traps:

put the heater to pilot or shut the power and drain it out something is working its way up to the HW out either that or the anrod is rotting out the only thing common to the house hot water is those out supplies...see what drains out
