Hot water issues in kitchen

Hi, this is my first post. We have just begun our first winter in our first house, and yesterday, we started to have some plumbing issues (i think). the kitchen sink only has cold water, when you turn the handle to hot, the water gets really low, and when its turned all the way to hot, the water stops. Today, the dishwasher does not have any water at all (i assume is hot water that flows into the dishwasher).

We still have cold water in our kitchen, but no hot water. The bathrooms all work (one on the first floor and one on the second floor) and have hot water. My wife suggested that maybe the pipes froze, but we do have cold water flowing through. So, I'm not sure what is going on.

Is there anyway I can check this and perhaps fix it? If its something small or easy to check, I would rather not pay someone to come out unless its a major problem that I cannot fix. However, I do not know where to begin.

Ayuh,... My guess is, the hot water line is Frozen,...

Follow it from where it works to where it don't, lookin' for Cold spots...
The coldwater line may run differently, hence unaffected...

so the pipes should be hot or warm for the warm water pipes? or am i looking for frost? im not sure what you mean by cold spots
