Hot water fades completely in kitchen???

Came home tonight and the hot water in my kitchen sink starts ok then fades within 5 seconds. If I let it sit for 5 minutes it will come back for a few seconds.

Hot water pressure everywhere else is just fine. Even out dishwasher that runs of the same pipe is working.

Any ideas of how to fix this? Could this be a result of hard water?

A bit of foreign matter in the pipe that floats up to the faucet when you turn it on and lodges there. When you turn off the water the object floats back down away from the faucet.

That is what I thought..it must be in the supply between the cut off to the dishwasher and the stem. The cold is just fine.

I don't have shut offs between the hw heater and here so looks like I've got some work ahead of me this weekend.
