Hot Cold Water Cross Circuit

The plumbers who did some rough plumbing took some part out of my shower valve that apparently prevents the hot and cold water from mixing prior to the faucet handles being installed and so my hot water is more of a luke warm water now

What is this part called and how can I replace it / fix this? I can get a hold of the plumbers but I do not know if they will have the part.

Thanks

That is a Delta 'rough in ' valve body----with a test cap----You need to install the cartridge in order to stop the crossover====

This is a common occurrence---although a pro plumber should have known the parts needed to be installed---Mike----

I have installed a cartridge and I still seem to have a cross circuit and get hot water. What else could be causing this?

The faucet /cartridge is in the 'ON' position. Turn it 'off'----(good luck figuring out where 'off' is)
