hoping to replace 30" tub with 32"?

Hi folks, I'd like to replace my 1950s 60 x 30 cast iron tub with a 60 x 32 acrylic one. (bigger selection of 32" tubs). My plumber's quote says "rerough plumbing" (we're ripping out the old tub, tile and shower/tub faucets and valve). My silly question is, is it going to cost extra for installation if we wanted to go with a 32" wide tub? I think he'd have to shift the drain about 1" to one side. We have sufficient floor space for the bigger tub.
Also bought a 3/4" valve, then heard it was overkill, but it is still usable, correct? (it is new and is compatible with the new shower/tub faucet).
Thanks in advance.

"re-rough plumbing" is a broad term. Some is required for any tub replacement. Such as p trap, waste & overflow, valve, etc.
