home hot water heating pipes
we have an older home that is heated with large ( 2 1/4 inch) pipes in the basement. I can not seem to find an insulation tube that is large enuff to do the job. What is the best way to insulate with the highest R value?

You're most likely dealing with 2" steel pipe. You need 2" x 1" fiberglass insulation. It comes in 3' lengths. Look for a insulation company, as this won't be in the big box stores.
