High Shower Drain for Basement Bathroom

We have a roughed in basement bathroon, but the drain for the shower is sitting about 1/2" too high above the floor. Does anyone know if we can install a subfloor beneath the fiberglass shower base? If so, what material should we use (green board)? Help!
