help with toilet leak

So i was gifted a toilet that was barely used.
I finished installing it yesterday and realized it was leaking water from the tank....

steps i took:

added new gaskets to the top and bottom of the screw that connects the tank to the toilet and put in some plumbers putty between the top gasket and bottom of tank. i also used plumbers tape on the bottom part of the screw where it was screwed together.

i also took off the large rubber gasket where the water flows into the the toilet from the tank and added in some plumbers putty there.

end result...the connecting screws no longer leak (old gaskets looked dry rotted)

but i still noticed a dabble of water coming from where the tank flushes water into toilet.

what are some suggestions on how to fix this?

help with toilet leak

I've had this issue before and the only thing that worked for me was to purchase a new rubber gasket that goes between the tank and bowl.....the rubber gasket was pinched in shipment and I didn't want to hear the ping from over-tightening the screws.

Sounds like you bandaided the tank to bowl gasket with plumber's putty. I bet it's leaking there.

Get a new tank to bowl gasket.
