***********help Septic Is Backing Up Into Shower************

We just moved into our new home this week. Which is about 4 / 5 years old.

My husband took a shower in the 2nd bathroom today to try it out and water was pouring through our recessed light in the kitchen.

A few hours later, poop and toilet paper blasted through the drain in that shower.

What in the world is going on??? HELP.....

The line is plugged up going to the septic tank, it need to be cleaned out.

Sounds like the line needs to be snaked or the septic tank hasn't been emptied.

Could be a few other things to like roots, grease poured down lines ect. I would get it pumped out then go from there.

Sounds like a clog in the main drain line.
A 4 or 5-year-old septic system should not be having any problems whatsoever, although it may be about due for a "routine maintenance" tank pump-out ($250-$300 here), which should be done at least every five years.
Open a main drain clean-out plug (watch out for the backflow) and sanke the main drain line with a heavy-duty plumber's snake or call a plumber or drain cleaning company.
Good Luck!
Mike

Do you actually have a septic tank, or is it a sewer basin with a pump ?
