my hot water kitchen tap just stopped working, bought new taps still doesnt work help any ideas?

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 06:53 PM

Does cold side work?

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 06:54 PM

yeah it does

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 06:57 PM

Make sure it's turned on under sink, if ok there, turn it off, take supply off at faucet, point it into a bucket, turn it on, and see if if you have flow through it. if so then it's in the faucet stem.

What brand is the faucet?

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 06:59 PM

new and old faucet are moen, ok we are doing what u said right now be right back

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:00 PM

what is the next step if you dont have flow when u turn it back on?

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:02 PM

no water at all

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 07:03 PM

Then if no flow through supply line, the shut off could be plugged up.

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 07:04 PM

Remove supply on shutoff and see if it's plugged up. Do you have hot water to other taps?

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:04 PM

the value has a bleeder can it be tested that way? no water flow at all when disconnected from taps

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 07:05 PM

Remove supply and check it.

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:05 PM

have hot water to all other taps, only kitchen tap

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:06 PM

supply line is clear from value to tap

Ron The Plumber 03-07-2007 07:07 PM

Then it's at the shut off valve try bleeder is there flow there.

TROYMAC 03-07-2007 07:08 PM
