heat riser

I'm redoing the bathroom in a fairly old apartment building. The bathroom is heated with a riser that is rusty and has been painted many times. Any ideas on how to improve the look of the riser? Thanks.

build a nice cabinet around it. Search for post surrounds.. simple kits made to cover basement posts. Sand it down paint with heat resistant paint. Just some ideas.
