Grinder pump odor - venting issue?

Hi, I moved into a new home that has an indoor grinder pump in the basement. We noticed odors in the basement starting a couple of weeks back and they have been getting stronger and stronger. It got so bad this weekend that we had to leave the house - it smelled all the way upstairs. Our problem is that the smell is not ALWAYS there and when we have had the plumbers come out to look at the grinder, the odor is not present. I did see that the vent running out of the top of our new EOne grinder gets revented right back into the plumbing line in the basement. I have also noticed that sometimes our 2' PVC vents on the top of the house have been getting covered over with snow which should not happen because of the heat they produce. Any ideas of help would be GREATLY appreciated!
