Goofy toilet noise

My toilet is making a whistling sound when I flush it. Does anyone know what that might be. I just bought this home built in 1992 and I'm thinking it may be a worn out part that I might be able to replace myself. Thanks for any help!

While it's flushing, while it's filling back up, or the entire time? Can you isolate where the sound is coming from? Most likely it's just a fill valve that needs changing.

Sorry it took a bit to get back to you. This is one of my first chat rooms. It makes the sound when it flushes.

Yep. Replace the fill valve in the tank with a Fluidmaster 400a float-cup type. It costs less than $10 bucks most places, and comes with easy illustrated installation instructions.
Good Luck!
