Good Tub Faucet

What is a good quality brand tub faucet that doesn't leak any water when you pull the button up to run the shower?

The old one leaks like a sieve when the shower is on. I went and got a new Delta at Lowe's, it looked beefy with brass fittings, etc, but the rest of it is plastic!

Or is there a rubber washer that can just be replaced on the old one?

Thanks,
Al

I go to the plumbing supply house and usually get Moen----Delta mixers usually require a Delta spout,as they use a soldered on fitting---

I have never found a spout at a big box store that is anything but junk--------

sounds like all you need is a new tub spout. all of them leak a little water when using the shower.

Delta good stuff. Big box or supply house. Keep the original paperwork included with the fixture and call them any time for replacement parts.

Free.

I just bought an American Standard faucet for my shower from a supply house and it works great. The best part about buying commercial grade fixtures is that they are all solid metal, no plastic.

I ended up getting the Delta pull-down style from a plumbing supply store. It was still plastic, but it works nice. At least with plastic you don't have to worry about pitting!

Good job alley plastic has been around a long time I'm sure you made a good choice. Delta simple yet easy to repair. Model number is the model number whether you buy it at a supply house, big box or flea market. Real commercial products are much different than house models. OK, tear me up all you parts buyers. Go to any commercial restroom you'll see the difference.
