going from copper pipe to PEX

hi; I live in Louisiana and I am building a custom shower and I am having to move the shower diverter. My question is I want to go from a 1/2 in. copper pipe to PEX hose I would like to know what the pluming code say to use on the copper pipe. a compression fitting a sharkbite fitting or to solder a nipple on then screw a PEX fitting on.

shark bites or gator bites are legal here or you can solder on pex barb to the copper like in link

Pex adapter soldered onto the copper is a better way of doing it IMHO.

If you can't manage soldering, you can use a sharkbite, but o-rings do fail over time. I tend to only use them for qest repairs, or temporary water connections.

Thanks I will solder on a PEX fitting I will feel better that way. I have used a sharkbite before but I was not real comfortable with in a closed up wall it did not leak but I still didn't feel reassured. I have used a compression fitting for copper pipe but I was not sure if it is to code.
