Gas Line/Dryer

extend the nipples from the supply line shutoff valve and keep the brass flares right into the inlet there

I am basically at the point where I am ripping it all out and bringing it to a plumbing supply and letting them tell me what the hec it is.
see you are getting size's mixed up like their is OD which is out side dia. and ID which is inside dia. Here is a web page that will make it clearer for you https://keithspecialty.com/plum.bras...e_fittings.htm

So the fitting that you bought 5/8"OD is for 1/2" ID copper whish is 5/8 out side dia and fit's 1/2" inside dia of copper. Hope this help's out

Helps out immensely that is what I was beginning to learn and find out after numerous trips to HD and reading a bit online but you just confirmed it so thank you very much .

I had a 5/8"OD line and was too big, I just bought a 1/2"OD and we'll see if that fits. If not I throw up my hands and everything comes off and goes to a local plumbing supply. Should have prob done in the first place but thought I could figure it out.
