The one that is empty most of the time. My wife loves to put stuff in the bowl with the disposer making it entirely useless.

This will depend on which side the drain is on, meaning the main drain for both sinks. I have not seen a disposal yet that allows for another sink to tie into it. The disposal should tie into the drain of the other sink which probably leads to the main drain for both sinks. UNLESS, you have a system which has the drain in the middle, I have seen a few of these, then it may not matter depending on IF you have room for the disposal and plumbing. OR, IF, you have one of those systems in which the sinks are tied together and the main drain is off-set to one side of the sinks, then the unit would go to the sink furthermost from the main drain. Good Luck, David

Ning,
Just my own .02. I normally put the disposal in the small bowl of a two-bowled sink. Only for the reason that you will be handwashing dishes in the large bowl and it never fails there are always a couple more pots or dishes to rinse the heavy stuff off of after you already filled the large bowl with soapy water.

The outlet of a disposer can be routed into the main drain with no more difficulty compared with a straight sink drain. The only reason for having to re-route the drain pipes is if the body of the disposer was in the way.

There you have your answer Also ,if it is anything like mine ,you need to have the large sink empty of water before running the machine as it is vented through the large drain, at least that is what the plumber told me.

One of my DH's dreams (especially now that we're watching a blu-ray on his new 60 inch plasma - satisfying his previous wish) is for a garbage disposal in both bowls.
