Frost Free Hose Bibb replacement through brick siding
Recently our exterior hose bibb froze and busted because the garden hose was carelessly left on the foucet. It was mortared tightly in place when the house was constructed. I had to saw off the pipe before the flange to remove it. Now that I want to install the new one, it catches on the outside lip of the pipe. I would like to make it professional as possible. I like how tight it was before. I will have to atleast try to chisel or dremel tool enough mortar to allow me to insert it all the way through. Any suggestions to how to seal around pipe, as I push it through the brick opening? Also want to use plastic screw anchor in mortar/brick for plastic flange.
Make the hole big enough for it to slide through and when its about an inch away from the brick apply some poly sulfide caulk to the area of penetration. Apply enough so the valve body seats into the caulk.
Poly Sulfide can be purchased at any marina as a single part caulking.
