flushing

Can someone out there tell me the probable causes for periodic slow toilet flushing?
What baffles me is 7 out of 10 times it flows like gangbusters, and the other times it swirls and drops slowly and leaves behind waste. Thankshttp://www.diychatroom.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

It most likely has to do with the volume of paper and solids in the flush.
A toilet has a built-in trap, and these "modern" low-flow toilets sometimes just don't flush well.

Can you adjust the water level inside the tank?
If so, then raise the water level slightly.
The water level may be at the point where it is right at the edge of giving the proper flush.

Replace the fill vavle in the toilet tank, if the one there now does not work properly, it can make the toilet flush strangley, fushes ok ever 3rd or 4th flush then the other times will seem sluggish.
