I have a customer who wants a combined custom tile tub/shower redone. There is an existing roman bath tub drain in it, but they don't like the fact that it sticks up when using it as a shower. They "stub their toes". They want a fitting that will be flush mounted to the floor's tile surface, and will be able to drain when they are showering, and plug when they are bathing - but be flush with the surface in both plug and drain modes. Is anything made like that? Make/Model/Contact Info? Thanks. Mike
It is just a "sunken" tub - the base is below grade level by about 18" - and the 5'x5' depression is dual purpose - used as both a tub and is also the floor to the shower. There is one step down from the bathroom floor surface to its base. The customer lets his small grand-kids use it as a mini-pool - makes for very fun bathing/swimming - though it uses a ton of water! They usually keep it full for the duration of the grand-kid visit so as not to waste a lot of water. The thing was built new in the early 70s, and was hot-mopped since it was "custom" dimensioned.
