Fire Pump or Regular Pump?

I need a fire pump for a residential sprinkler install due to re-purposing a workshop into an apartment. Looking through the fire code, I don't see any special requirements for the pump itself. The requirements appear to be about controlling, locating, powering, and protecting the pump. Am I missing something?

If I'm not missing anything, can't I just get any pump that meets my systems requirements? Those are 60psi at 40GPM. If that's the case, I'll be happy because I think it will save me lots of money.

I did have the system professionally designed and approved. The install bid I got was over 40k, though, and I can't find someone to give me another bid. Weird.
