Fire proof plumbing?

I am building a 2 storey house, the first level is CMU block and is a garage, and the second storey is the living area and is framed. Looking in the code book it states that the ceiling of the garage has to be fire rated gypsum any plumbing coming through the ceiling of the first floor (garage) has to be fire proof. I was planning on running the sewer pipe through the ceiling of the first level then along the ceiling for a distance of about 40 feet and then exiting the garage through the garage floor. So how do I transition from ABS sewer pipe to metal pipe to go through the fire rated gypsum then back to ABS.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Mike

Call for clarification---that sounds odd---However--if they insist--bury it behind a soffit covered with 5/8" drywall.

Use a CIxPlas. shielded nohub coupling. You probably need to install the cast iron 12" each side of the fire wall. They also make fire rated collars for plastic pipes. They expand and collapse over the hole when the pipe melts away, Check with the building dept and see if it is approved.
Depending on the fire rating needed, you might get by with PVC. but I doubt it. It has different rating then ABS.

need to know the fire rating needed 1 2 3 4 etc hours and it is usually not the pipe that is the issue but the seal around pipe
google pipe firestop, pipe firestop collar or pipe fireproofing and you can see all types and different ratings
