Filling a Large Tub

I will be installing a large soaker tub (72"x36", 46 gallons). I am wondering if there are faucets that will fill the tub faster or am I constrained by the 1/2" pipe?

Would it make sense to run a direct line from the basement in 3/4" pipe? The water main is 3/4" and branches off to 1/2" throughout the house.

Filling a Large Tub

Most of the soaker tub valves I've installed are 1/2" inlets, you could pipe 3/4" to the tub and reduce at the inlets.

Get a roman tub valve, they do a good job on filling these tubs, 46 gallons to fill, hope you have a good sized water heater, 65 to 80 gal.

Filling a Large Tub

Ron,

Thanks for the feddback!

I just had a 75 gallon power vented water heater installed as I have been through the experience of having a large tub with a small heater...it wasn't fun.
