Faucet baseplate leaking
I recently replace my kitchen faucet. The old baseplate leaked and now this one does too. I tried to use plumbers putty to increase my chances of it not leaking, but it is cracking and pulling away now. I tightened it as much as I could and the baseplate would not seat properly on the plastic 'seal'. Is there a trick to sealing these poorly designed baseplates? With as accomplished engineering we have these days, and even in the plumbing industry, the design seems pretty weak and leaves too much room for faulty installation. If I don't come up with something soon, I will end up removing the baseplate and plugging the two extra exposed holes. Is there anything I could use these holes for? Disposal switch?
