Extra thick wax ring or flange spacer ?

I installed new tiles and underlayment and now the toilet flange sits ~1/2" lower than the floor ... do I need to install flange spacer or extra thick wax ring is just fine? If spacer is needed what type of spacer should I get ? Thanks.

Edit: Just got a 1/2" spacer to make it flush with the floor ... it's all good
