external wall mount blower for range hood

I have an island cooktop and will be buying a new range hood for it. We want to use an existing external wall mount blower but aren't sure if/how we can hook it up. The old range hood had variable speed and the wiring from the fan ran directly to the wiring to the hood. Do you think this external blower can be hooked up to any new hood?

Ayuh,... I donno if it'll hook up to Any new hood,...
But I'm pretty sure it could be hooked up to Many new hoods...

Where does it go thru the wall??? What's it going to look like with ductwork run to it???? My guess is it will look like crap.
