Ejector Pump help

I have an ejector pump that won't shut off sometimes. So my questions is, the switch that turns the pump on/off, is it a part that can be replaced or is it attached to the pump? I notice two cords coming out of the pit which leads me to believe that its a separate part. Also, is it the same part as a sump pump switch?

Thanks,

Doug

Ejector Pump help

Sometimes they are repairable, Check manufacturers website for part. But if it has a few years on it, I would replace the whole thing. When one part fails, often more will begin failing.

Ejector Pump help

Is this for ground water or sewage? It could be that the float switch is just sticking somewhere or weighted down with solids. Does the cord have a piggy back plug? I would pull the pump, throw it in a bucket, and go test it outside. Plug it in, then lift up the float to see if it shuts off. Don't run it dry for more than a couple seconds.
