Drainage near leach field

I've been getting estimates on installation of internal drainage for my basement and in every case the contractors are suggesting running the drain away from the house to an area of the yard where the leach field is located. I believe this is because it's easier and the layout of the property and position of the house lends itself to gravity draining, however I'm not getting a warm fuzzy about putting all that water on top of the leach field in fear of saturating the soil to the point that the leach field doesn't percolate properly.

I would feel more comfortable with using a pump to move the collected water in the pit further back on the property where it wouldn't drain onto the leach field.

Thoughts?

I'm with you---don't let the sump water dump on top of the leach field---

The basement guys may be used to working on homes with city services and they just aren't thinking.

Drainage near leach field

Interestingly though I had to point out to all of them that their original plan for the drain away from the house would run either right toward the septic tank or very near it. First, I would figure they should be asking me about such things and more importantly, if I mentioned the septic tank this should be a clue as to the fact there is something beyond the tank they should be aware of.
