Disposal torque removes plumbers putty

installed new garbage disposal. when turned on, the torque twists the sink flange slightly. wore away the plumbers putty within a couple of weeks. I can reinstall the disposal with fresh putty, but need a longer term solution. is there another option, such as a gasket, that can seal the flange?

doesn't sound like it's tight enough. i've never ran across that before. what brand?

i'll pull it apart and reapply plumbers putty - how do I know that the flange is tight enough?

When you can no longer manually rotate it.
