dishwasher water supply line options

Hello All,

Quick question.

We are remodeling the kitchen and have relocated the dishwasher so it will be next to the sink. In its previous location, it had a designated hot water supply line.

I have two options:
1. Extend the previous line (in the basement) to the new location.
2. Tap into the hot water supply for the kitchen sink.

I would rather do option 2, however, is it better to have a designated supply line for the dishwasher? Will I see a drop in hot water pressure at the sink if the dishwasher is running at the same time? Or will it not be phased? I really don't mind doing either.

Appreciate any advice/experience.

Mine taps into the Hot under the sink it was built like that no problem.

Just make sure you install a tee with a shutoff valve.

I would also use the braided flex line from the valve to the DW.
