dishwasher leak

My dishwasher is leaking, there is a puddle underneath it.

I was wondering how many possible causes there may be or is it easy to narrow it down to maybe a common cause (e.g. a gasket)

Thanks

Most common---door leak
Next--pump failure

water feed line

drain solenoid/connection

Remove the lower cover plate--slide a sheet of paper or card board under the machine--that will show you the point of the leak--

There is exposed electric under there--so keep your hands out when the machine is operating---

i think it is leaking from the back, because the area in the front did not have puddles.

maybe the drain out ?

No connections in the back----pump is in the middle--drain also---water feed front left---

You may need to pull it out---

If water is leaking in the back---case damaged---drain line might be one of the push in connections and it has pulled apart--or water line is flawed---or you have a vacuum breaker in the drain line and water is seeping out of it and traveling back down the line behind unit---

dishwasher leak

I took the DW out and it drips from the back, seems like a metal brace under where the rotating propeller is inside. The pictures are taken from the back of the appliance.

Any idea what's causing the leak?

Thanks

looks like its time for new dishwasher leak seems to be from housing around pump assy......not sure why its setting on 2x4s????? alot of parts for these things are expensive..cheaper to buy new dishwasher in comparision to age and cost of parts with labor...

Could be pump to cabinet gasket leaking. Your eyes will have to guide you as to where the water is coming from. Gasket is cheap compared to a new machine.

I was thinking along similar lines. Cause there was a broken wine glass inside once or twice and shards could have gotten through the fins in the bottom, if underneath is where the said gasket is located.

Thanks

The problem are the loose and leaky O ring gaskets on the motor. I called a local parts supplier and the replacement is $24 each, which is ridiculous for effectively a rubber band. Talk about racket.

Anybody have an alternative suggestion? Is there such a thing as aftermarket generic gaskets for like $0.20?

The motor is Johnson Elec DCJ72(4)MLG

Thanks

Could try a mom and pop hardware store. They usually have all kinds of random stuff on the shelves. Or measure and order from somewhere online. I wouldn't waste my time in a home improvement store, they'll never have it.
