Ok today my husband remove the old dishwasher,for a while until we purchase the new one.But the problem comes in with the water valve that comes from the disher to underneath the sink we have cut off the valve cut off the outside.Basically turn the hole main line off and there is still water leaking from this here valve is there anyway that I can cap this off from underneath the sink until the new dishwasher arrives cause my house need water.But even with that valve shut off even the hot water valve cutt off this thing is still running water.I have to cut the hole house off from water.Please help.

Turn off the main water valve. cut the pipe under the sink before (supply side) the valves that are not shutting off completely. (you can replace these latter) No slide a sharkbite end cap fitting over the pipe. Turn on the main valve. The sharkbite can be removed latter to attach a new valve.

Mrs. Stevenson,
Even though you shut the main off, you are probably getting water draining down from water lines above the sink area. Do you live in a two story home by chance? If you want to get it to stop dripping in this situation, shut off the main, then open up the faucets and shower controls upstairs, and open up a faucet below if you have a basement. Everything should drain then. In the meantime, you can make the repairs as Bob said.
