Determine water heater specs from S/N

There isn't very much information on the labels on my water heater. All I have are energy ratings, the serial number, and that's its a Kenmore Power Miser 9. There is no model number. The Power Miser 9 series has several sizes. I want to figure out how many gallon it is, aside from guessing by size, how can i figure out its exact specs?

Page 5 of the attached pdf should clear it up for you. Just measure your tank, find the measurements on the product spec chart and you'll be good to go

Measure the circumference and the height and post back. 50 gal. would fit in a 10" dia.[31.4" circum.], 47" high tank according to the formula for the volume of a cylinder. Tank insul. thickness adds to these numbers.

So sorry. I forgot to add the link... I went ahead an just took a screen shot. This is not guessing, measure the water heater and you'll know exactly what you have.

Typically there's a code in the serial number also. The first 4 numbers should indicate the month/year or week/year
