Delta Tub Spout Diverter

Delta tub spout - when new a few months ago the diverter knob was tight and only needed to be pulled up a small amount to work. Now I need to pull it up twice the distance and it takes more time to divert (few seconds). The diverter does work but I'm not sure why the difference. My daughter said it fell off and she screwed it back on. I tried screwing the diverter knob in more but it doesn't seem to be going any further in. I don't think it's broken but I would like it back to its original condition.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Easier than what? Is this repairable? I don't want to pay any money to fix this if I can avoid it. These tub spouts are expensive and I'm a cheap bastard.

contact delta they MIGHT be willing to give you a replacement or try the plumber who installed it he might be able to warranty it...aside from that id say there is little chance of repairing the spout....

I suggest you try unscrewing it and inspecting then rescrwing back in. It may have gotten cross-threaded when your daughter screwed it back on. Don't have much experience with Delta diverter spouts but am about to find out since that is waht my new tub has. Post again and let us know what you find out between fixing or getting a repalcement. I imagine Delta will make good on it.
