Delta Monitor shower repair.

I have removed the set screw from side of the shower handle but her handle will not release from the cartridge. Any ideas??

You should be able to remove it by pulling straight back. Sounds like it might be stuck though, so a little twisting and turning while pulling backwards might to the trick.

Sometimes I wedge a crescent wrench between the handle and trim kit and wiggle it around. If it turns open and closed put something behind it with it open and shut the handle to force it off. Use electrical tape to not damage anything.

Thank you for your replies. I have tried the methods suggested with no luck. I can't get the handle to budge.

Seems like we're missing something simple here. Which model do you have? Maybe try a little squirt of lubricant to loosen it up.

I agree about something simple. But, I have tried WD40 etc. No Luck!

It it the one with the separate temp and flow levers. If so did you pop off the temp lever cap. Then remove the screw that holds the pressure lever on. Site you did just don't know. Worse comes to worse break the handle, the cartridge isnt too much.

Thanks kindwon-
It's a single lever. The cartridge expense is not the issue. The only way that I can see to get the handle off is to cut it off. That means replacing the handle + the trim kit + the cartridge. The works!
