Delta faucet repair?

I have a 20+ year old delta single handle type faucet in my shower. Lately, the shower head still drips even when it's turned off.

I understand that they might be some sort of repair kit for this sort of thing? A ball with holes in it and/or some o-rings?

Is that an easy repair to perform, or should I scrap the whole thing and start over?

Delta faucet repair?

It's probably got some life left in it yet. If it was me, I'd repair it. Kit couldn't be more than $5-10.

Which Delta do you have? Maybe a pic could help us figure it out.

Delta faucet repair?

If a shower only fixture, no tub spout, rebuilding may be a solution. They are easy to repair once you get past the handle fasteners, usually a set screw long ago corroded/rusted tight.

If there is a tub spout, it is likely not the valve leaking unless it comes out the tub spout, just water sitting in the shower head dripping.

Delta faucet repair?

This is a shower, no tub faucet involved. The dripping continues all night, leaving a trail of water into the drain, so this is not simply the shower head draining.

Here is a pic of the fixture:

Delta faucet repair?

I have a couple of these Delta faucets (circa 1987) and the standard Delta repair kit at Home Depot or Lowes should work fine... you can buy the kit up front and then try the repair or disassemble your valve and bring the parts to Home Depot or Lowes to match them to a kit... AND be sure to shut off the water before taking the valve apart!!
