Damaged Shower Curb
Poured the final shower floor and curb last week. Let it set 4 days. Floor was firm and could be stood on without problem. But when the front backer form of the curb was removed it could be seen to be still damp. Yes, I should have removed it earlier to aid in curing.
But the man came to set the walls and said it was no problem. He would be careful. Famous last words. The curb was damaged on the outer 3rd of the top. The damage is serious to the outside 3rd of the top and is 1.5" thick.
My question now is what to repair, how and what with?
Do I remove just the top of the curb where I will eventually set a marble entry.....or do I remove the entire top.....or the whole curb down to the shower floor inside?
What to use? Same Mortar mix but how with additive to adhere to previously poured curb? Do I need to wait until existing curb has completely cured before adding anything on top.
Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
