Cutting the main pipe off my well to reroute?

I'm going to be installing an irrigation system at my residence and I'm using an existing artesian well for my water supply. I need to cut the pipe off that is coming up out of the ground so I can reroute it to my pump to start setting up the sprinkler system.

How do I manage this?

Cutting the main pipe off my well to reroute?

I hate to destroy infrastructure so I would go with a hose and hose clamps before I go ahead and cut that pipe.

I'm not sure what you mean by using a hose and hose clamps. Can you be more specific?

OK, I see what the hose clamp is, but how does it help you when you're trying to attach a new piece of piping to the main line? I have no way of shutting off the flow of water. I'll be cutting the pipe below ground BEFORE the shutoff valves that currently exist. Maybe I wasn't clear enough about that.

I meant to say, don't cut the pipe below ground!

Attach what you want (a tee, a hose, etc.) to the well pipe currently above ground, preferably after the shutoffs.
