How do I fix a model 812 Culligan water softener where the water runs to the drain continuously?

Most likely you are going to need to replace the main piston and seal cage. There are some o rings that start to break and let water go to the drain when it is in the service spot.
The challenge is finding the rebuild kit, some dealers will sell to the customer so that they can do the work and others will not sell or you might find the kit on Ebay..
One can do the work but it depends on how handy one is for doing this kind of work.
