Since I'm new to the forums I'm not allowed to send PM's yet (15 post minimum for that priviledge). To answer your PM questions...

Yes, the piston moves pretty freely. There is some resistance but it's not stuck. I have to imagine a little resistance is appropriate for the seal? Do you think I should dis-assemble it and clean it? As you might expect I have a lot of iron in my water so anything pre-rustmaster tends to be pretty gunked up. I have some remarkable pics from when I rebuilt the tank.

The white plastic link is cracked pretty badly but still works. I was afraid to try to pull the pin that holds it to the steel shaft for fear of breaking the plastic completely but is that pin just a press/pressure fit?

You can reply directly if you like. Yes, I really want to get one plastic link/cam. Thanks.
