Crack in shower drain


My second floor shower drain has a hair line crack about 3 inches long that drips water onto the below bedroom ceiling. Outside of pulling the shower out or cutting up through the ceiling is there any way to fix or patch the crack?

What is the pan made of? With a fiberglass pan the repair can be done from below----How do you know that there is a 'hairline' crack?--Mike--
