CPVC mistake - advice apprecaited

I had to replace a segment of CPVC with PEX. The 1/2" PEX to 1/2" CPVC adapter should have been primed, then cemented to the CPVC (nothing new here).

I primed the CPVC but did not put cement on. I let it dry for a few hours and completed the installation. There are no leaks as of 3 days later and everything works perfectly.

Should I reinstall? I've heard that the primer's job is to bond the pipes together - and it appears that this has been done. Advice appreciated.

Re-do it.

The primer is a cleaner/softener. It doesn't bond the pipe by itself or else we wouldn't need the glue.

Next time you're in the plumbing isle pick up some Flowguard Gold. It's a one step CPVC cement so it doesn't require any primer. I used it on my last project and it was great. Any time I can cut a step out you can count me in!

thanks guys, going to just get rid of the CPVC altogether and go all pex now - would have saved me time if I had done that in the first place.
