Cover Up Soil Pipe in Garage?

I purchased a house this summer that has a 2 car garage. In the garage is an exposed soil pipe that runs vertically from ceiling to the floor and is on the far-left-hand side of the garage. It's an old, rusty, ugly looking soil pipe : ) The previous owner had wrapped it with one of those old green indoor/outdoor rugs. That rug is really ugly and old so I'm going to cut it off and want to know what options there are to cover this thing up. I don't want to frame and drywall around it.

Ideally I would think that an insulating foam made for pipes would be great but I don't find any for this thick a pipe at Home Depot or Lowes, though admittedly I didn't take the time to ask (that's my next step).

I don't think I need the pipe insulated. This is purely for looks, as I'm going through the steps to clean up and paint the garage as my next big project.

Recommendations? I'd love a big thick foam/protector because my wife is a bad driver and I can just see her dinging this pipe with a vehicle one day, or my kids bumping into it with a bike or something. It's a 39 year old soil pipe. Perhaps I should just cut it out and replace with PVC? I've never done that and have no idea how hard that would be so I'd rather avoid it as it isn't leaking. I'd like to just cover it up. I can snap a pic if needed, but just picture an old rusty iron? pipe.

Take carpet, foam insulation or whatever you want but I wouldn't spend alot of $$$$ because it it leaks it will have to be torn off to make a repair.

Thanks.

I'd much rather go with foam if possible. Do they sell foam insulation that will fit a soil pipe? I looked at my local big box store and didn't see any of the foam pipe wrap that was anywhere near large enough in diameter to wrap around this pipe.

Not sure at the box store not even sure at a plumbing supply house. I have never had the need for such an item.

That doesn't mean it's not out there...

Just not sure.....sorry

A large Plumbing Supply house would carry it. I have included a link to a company that carries pipe insulation, just to show you what is available.
