I'd like to seal off one side of a 2 way drain. A standard cap is to long for my purpose. So I would like to know if I can use a DWV test cap. The drain is inch and a half. Thanks for your help.
Is this two way drain a wye fitting under a sink? If so just put an internal 1 1/2" screw plug in the threads and tighten up. If it has external threads on the fitting you could put a rubber cap on it with a screw band clamp and tighten it up, but if you NEED to seal it off permanently it would be better to unsolder the entire fitting and remove it completely and just stub an 1 1/2" piece of DWV straight out of the wall and put a new compression fitting on it for your application.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
