copper to ball valve

fese Newbie   Join Date: Dec 2011 Posts: 2	copper to ball valve how do I solder in a ball valve to !/2 " copper? Won't that damage the plastic holder thing in the valve housing?

Won't that damage the plastic holder thing in the valve housing? you clean pipe, use fitting brush on inside of valve apply paste heat up joint apply leadfree solder.....don't over heat valve...

joecaption Member   Join Date: Nov 2011 Location: Hartfield VA Posts: 18,229	copper to ball valve And have the valve in the open position when soldering. A faster way is to just use a Shark Bite ball valve. That way the two just slip together.
