Question

Connecting a shower drain to a toilette drain

I'm in the process of building a shower next to an exsisting toilette aproximately 36 inches away. I have trenched concrete from where the shower drain/P trap will be located up to the toilette. I have left the toilette flange undistrubed for now until further advised. Please enlighten me; how to make this connection. Will it be at the closet bend, the tee for the toilette vent, or somewhere in between. I'll need correct names for the fittings (wye, combo, tee etc.) so I can ask for these at the hardware store.
